Kansas City Chiefs who won’t be back: Eric Bieniemy
Eric Bieniemy was linked to two offensive coordinator jobs prior to the Super Bowl — one of which was the Washington Commanders — and could very well move on to a new opportunity after winning another championship in Kansas City.
As valued as Bieniemy is in KC, he hasn’t been taken seriously as a head coaching candidate while has has Patrick Mahomes at the helm, and Andy Reid calling plays alongside him. In a new location — perhaps with a less experienced staff — Bieniemy could shine and earn himself that opportunity to lead a team.
Bieniemy even had an outside shot at the Indianapolis Colts head coaching job, but that is reportedly going to Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen instead.
Something has consistently gotten in the way of Bieniemy receiving head coaching gigs. Whether it be experience, interviews or that elephant in the room, leading an offense with let talent and potential to success over time may be his best chance yet to overcome ignorance.
