1. DE Robert Quinn

Robert Quinn was given a present he didn’t ask for, but he likely can’t believe how well it went. He was traded in October from the Chicago Bears, the worst team in the NFL, to the Philadelphia Eagles. Quinn’s arrival fortified a defense that already had an undefeated record right before Halloween. That made this defense that much scarier.

Quinn did not have the impact the Eagles hoped. He struggled in the first five games before landing on IR with a knee injury. Maybe that time was good for him, but he has still been quiet since his return from injury to start the playoffs. It’s been four weeks since Quinn returned, so maybe he is fully healthy now. Still, there’s no way the Eagles are bringing him back.

The Eagles were adding to a position of strength. Maybe that explains some of Quinn’s struggles. He still needed to do more after the Eagles brought him on board. At this point, if Quinn wants to continue his career, he needs to sign a “show-me” contract. Even with that fact, it doesn’t make sense for the Eagles to give Quinn a roster spot.

Someone will give Quinn that chance. He’s been in the Super Bowl. He’s one season removed from an 18.5 sack campaign. Going from 18.5 sacks to zero without a season-ending injury has to be some kind of record. Teams will give him a chance. It shouldn’t be the Eagles.
