4. Will Levis, Kentucky

There have been whispers and rumors of specific interest in Will Levis. A number of insiders have even mocked him in the first overall position in the draft. That feels a bit too reminiscent of recent history where teams climbed the board for Mitch Trubisky and Carson Wentz on draft day to me, but I digress.

This isn’t a bash of Will Levis, he’s a hell of a prospect, and is sure to be a first-rounder. A two-year starter at Kentucky — after transferring from Penn State — Levis demonstrated great arm strength, a quick release, and unavoidable physicality since 2021. Another tall drink of water, he fills out a 6-foot-3 frame at roughly 230 pounds. He simply doesn’t have the explosiveness with his legs that is evident with some of the other players on the board.

Playing for a team with the second-worst record in the SEC, Levis could have the highest ceiling of anyone in this class. Given a better supporting cast, he could absolutely prove me wrong and wind up the best professional quarterback to come out of the 2023 NFL dDraft. There is just too much yet to be seen for me to get on board with placing him above other quarterbacks on the board.
