Which eight teams will make it to Omaha for the 2023 College World Series? Keep an eye on these programs this year.

The College World Series is such a remarkable event. It’s a thrill to go to and it’s a thrill to work. And if you get the chance to go to Omaha, you should absolutely get up there and watch the Greatest Show on Dirt.

But which eight teams will be making the trip to Nebraska this season? Which fanbases will get the pleasure of going to Omaha?

Keep an eye on these eight college baseball programs this year.

8 teams to watch for 2023 College World Series

In no particular order, here are eight fanbases that need to start gearing up and getting ready for the College World Series this season.

  • LSU Tigers – The LSU Tigers have an abundance of talent all over the place thanks to some key transfers and impressive recruiting. Guys like Tommy White and Paul Skenes could conceivably help the Tigers break through and win a national title. Expect this team to be a force to be reckoned with all throughout the season.
  • Miami Hurricanes – The Hurricanes should be pretty good all over the field. This is a team that is relatively well-rounded and had a lot of success a season ago. The ACC should be deep this season, but Yohandy Morales and C.J. Kayfus have the talent to elevate this program.
  • Stanford Cardinal – Stanford seems interesting. This program has been close to breaking through recently on several occasions and has consistently been one of the best out of the PAC-12 in any given year. That shouldn’t change much this season.
  • Louisville Cardinals – Few coaches are as experienced at winning as Dan McDonnell. The Cardinals did lose quite a bit of talent from last season, but they return a lot of potential with Jack Payton and Christian Knapczyk both returning after stellar performances during the 2022 season.
  • Oklahoma State Cowboys – Nolan McLean is definitely someone worth keeping up with this season if your favorite MLB team needs someone who can hit home runs regularly. And because of that, and the talent elsewhere on the roster, Oklahoma State will be a team worth watching all throughout the season.
  • Tennessee Vols – While they fell short of making it to Omaha a season ago, the Tennessee Vols boast a remarkable pitching staff. Keep an eye on everything going on in Knoxville this year because this bunch could win the SEC thanks to how good this pitching staff is.
  • Wake Forest Demon Deacons – If you’re looking for a relatively smaller program to root for this season, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons might just be that team. Rhett Lowder might quietly be one of the most interesting pitchers to watch this season. Keep an eye on the Demon Deacons this year.
  • Mississippi State Bulldogs – Chris Lemonis and the Mississippi State Bulldogs have a lot of questions that they’ll need to answer, but they’ve got a pretty good lineup showing up this season. As long as the pitching staff stays healthy and can perform relatively well, it certainly seems plausible that MSU gets back to Omaha this year.
