1 Bryan Reynolds trade package for 3 potential dark horse suitors

Bryan Reynolds rumors: Do the Braves have the assets?
Bryan Reynolds patrolling left field — or frankly any outfield position for the Atlanta Braves — would be a significant upgrade over Marcell Ozuna/Eddie Rosario. Atlanta needs to fill their outfield void eventually if they are to compete for another World Series. Alex Anthopoulos is exactly the kind of general manager who could pull this deal off, as the Braves were interested in Reynolds way back in 2021.
Why not make that trade now, minus a few parts?
Per Bob Nightengale, the Braves made a huge offer to the Pirates in the summer of 2021 for Reynolds, but it never came to fruition. Any trade for Reynolds now would still be a rather large package of players.
That’s the framework of any trade, for starters.
Grissom was tabbed as the replacement for Dansby Swanson, but the Braves prospect can play second base and has even flirted with a move to the outfield in the past. Ian Anderson is coming off a down year, but in 2021 was an NL Rookie of the Year candidate. He’d be a solid fit in the Pirates rotation as they try to build it up from scratch. Schuster, who ranks as the No. 1 prospect in Atlanta’s system right now, is 24 years old and ready for big-league action. He could also slide into the Bucs pitching staff right away.
The majority of Atlanta’s system needs to be rebuilt from scratch anyway. A solid 2022 draft class has gone a long way, but expect AA’s focus to go there moving forward.
