1. The Steelers trade pick No. 32 and a future pick for Bobby Wagner

There has been lots of buzz about the Rams potentially trading Jalen Ramsey based on interpretations of comments recently made by Rams COO Kevin Demoff about the direction of the franchise. This led Steelers fans to consider whether the team could be a candidate for Ramsey’s services.

Of course, Jalen Ramsey would improve the Steelers’ defensive backfield to be among the best in football. While this is plausible, the Rams’ superstar not only makes more sense for the Rams to trade if they do embrace some semblance of a rebuild but also would make a more immediate impact on the Steelers if acquired.

The Steelers’ most significant weakness on the defensive side of the ball comes from their linebacker core. Neither Devin Bush nor 2022 acquisition Myles Jack has quelled concerns about the position.

Bobby Wagner showed that even at age 32, his level of play has not suffered whatsoever, after having led all NFL linebackers based on PFF grade for 2022. According to OverTheCap.com, if the Rams were to trade Wagner during the NFL Draft, Los Angeles would receive about $8.5 million in cap savings.

Moreover, this hypothetical trade would provide the Rams with much-needed draft capital both immediately and in the future.
