Playoff teams that need to sign Will Barton: 2. Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks need depth. They are 16th in the NBA in bench points per game (34.5), and they lost depth in the Kyrie Irving deal.

Irving and Luka Doncic make up one of the most dynamic duos in the league. The pair will command a massive amount of defensive attention, and the players around them should see plenty of open looks. Barton could thrive in that situation. Barton can space the floor and knock down open catch-and-shoot threes at a high clip.

The Mavericks do currently have players that fit that description. Reggie Bullock, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Justin Holiday are all known for their shooting ability. Regardless, Barton is outpacing all three of those players in three-point percentage this season.

Additionally, the Mavericks can play around with different lineup options. They could potentially start Bullock, and bring Barton, Hardaway, and Holiday off the bench together. Irving and Doncic could stagger minutes, in order to eliminate the need for a backup point guard.
