6. Devon Achane, Texas A&M

With remarkable consistency per his opportunity and respectable volume as a pass catcher for the Aggies, Devon Achane may have the most to gain from a big week at the combine. He has notable company in the “speedy RB” category, but if Achane tests out in Indianapolis atop the group, he will likely make some money on day two of the draft.

He’s a bit undersized at 5-foot-9 and 185-pounds, but he has elite burst and breakaway speed. It was not uncommon to see him lined up out wide at A&M, as he can wear many hats. At first glance, it may seem like a slight to have him ahead of so many bell cows, but Achane is really the epitome of “what you see is what you get.” He has numbers comparable with most anyone in the back half of this list, and the speed to rival anyone ahead of him. He fits the mold of “today’s NFL,” and serves as a clear transition into the top half of this list.

With steady growth on his collegiate stat sheet, his 1,100-yard 2022 campaign puts him in the mix of high-ceiling running backs, and the balance in his game separates him from the bottom four in this group.
