1. Trading Cameron Jordan

Some media outlets have listed Cameron Jordan as a potential trade option. CBS Sports suggested Jordan as a “trade candidate”, and Bleacher Report proposed that the Saints trade Jordan to the Seattle Seahawks.

Dealing Jordan would free up a little over $2.15 million in cap space. However, that would be a foolish decision. Since 2012, Jordan has the most sacks (114.5) in the NFL. The seven-time Pro Bowler remains one of the most dangerous edge rushers in the game. Last season, he generated 8.5 sacks. He also posted a PFF grade of 74.5.

At age 33, Jordan is unlikely to command a first-round pick on the trade market. The Chicago Bears received a second and a sixth-round pick for 31-year-old Khalil Mack last offseason. Jordan is too valuable to deal for a small amount of cap relief and a Day 2 pick.

Barring a huge return, the Saints need to hold onto Jordan.
