Jordan Poyer rumors: 5 best fits in free agency
By Jakob Ashlin
Best fits for Jordan Poyer in free agency: 1. Miami Dolphins
There is a clear number one contender for Poyer: the Miami Dolphins.
Contender: Check. No state income tax: Check. Warm weather: Check.
Poyer, himself, has hinted at signing with the Dolphins. He cited his relationships with Tua Tagovailoa and Mike McDaniel.
“It would be crazy to stay in the (AFC) East and come down here to South Florida,” Poyer said on his podcast.
He also mentioned that he would be attending Tagovailoa’s birthday party.
"“I might have to put my best suit on,” Poyer added. “Put a nice little tie on. I know (Dolphins head coach) Mike McDaniel will be in there. Mike McDaniel and I go back to Cleveland… We’ll see who’s over there.”"
The Dolphins have -$15.31 million in cap space, but they have a clear path to creating some positive cap space. If they restructured the contracts of Tyreek Hill, Bradley Chubb, and Emmanuel Ogbah, they would have $19.69 million in cap space. Miami’s current starter, Eric Rowe, is set to become an unrestricted free agent.
Poyer and Jevon Holland would become one of the best safety duos in the league.
