Top Free Agent Fits For Saquon Barkley – Buffalo Bills

One of the most exciting potential fits for Saquon Barkley would be in Buffalo. There is a sense of urgency for the Bills to upgrade the running back position after the team appears to have plateaued this season.

The platoon of Devin Singletary, James Cook and Nyheim Hines wasn’t particularly effective for Buffalo down the stretch, which was problematic given the number of cold weather games the Bills have to play each season. The fact that quarterback Josh Allen was Buffalo’s top rushing threat made the Bills relatively easy to game plan for since their running backs weren’t true game-breakers.

There is an opening in the Buffalo backfield since Singletary is set to hit free agency. GM Brandon Beane could play it safe by using a draft pick to find an affordable young talent but taking a big swing on Barkley would be very enticing.

Adding Barkley to an offense that is already loaded with exciting talents like Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis could make Buffalo even more explosive. A star running back like Barkley may be the missing piece that the Bills need to get over the hump in the loaded AFC.

Beane admitted the Bills would need to, “get creative” this offseason with the salary cap. Jordan Poyer is a free agent, and the team has plenty of money already committed to Josh Allen, Von Miller, and Stefon Diggs. Adding Barkley could tie their hands to build a competitor even more.
