2. A Dolphins Derrick Henry trade would give Mike McDaniel the RB he needs

We saw what a superstar running back in the Kyle Shanahan offense finally looks like this past season when Christian McCaffrey went to San Francisco midseason. Not shockingly, it worked beautifully. But now we could potentially get a look at a bruising back like Derrick Henry in the same type of offense with Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins.

It’s going to be absolutely barren in Miami with the running back room once free agency hits. Raheem Mostert, midseason acquisition Jeff Wilson Jr., Myles Gaskin and Salvon Ahmed are all set to hit the market this offseason, meaning that the Dolphins could be looking for an answer in the backfield.

Particularly with a renewed focus on helping Tua Tagovailoa stay healthy and with Miami not having a first-round pick thanks to tampering with Tom Brady, the Dolphins need to make a splash and a Henry trade could be what the doctor ordered.

Not only is Henry a fantastic pass-protector, but far too often McDaniel and the Dolphins offense got away from running the ball, which undoubtedly had to be a side effect of the lack of durability among the backs on the roster. That’s not a concern with Henry and putting him as the power run option in an offense that has Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle could be lethal.
