3 teams that should scoop Adam Thielen up after Vikings release
By John Buhler
New York Giants will be Thielen themselves with some Adam in the Big Apple
This is a fit where Thielen can get the best of both worlds, to be honest. The New York Giants are certainly trending up under head coach Brian Daboll. They were so good in fact that they beat Thielen’s former team on the road in the Wild Card round to advance. Daniel Jones is now a well-compensated, are we sure he’s a good quarterback? Does that sound familiar or what? Oh, well…
With Jones back on a long-term deal and running back Saquon Barkley getting slapped with the franchise tag, it serves the G-Men to be in hot pursuit of a veteran wide receiver who can complement them. Screwing the pooch on the disaster that was the Kadarius Toney pick and trade made later with the Kansas City Chiefs gets worse by the nanosecond. Perhaps Thielen can fix it?
Since it is so early in the process in the Daboll/Joe Schoen era of Giants football, we don’t really know what their definitive ceiling is. Even though New York is all about the glitz and glamor, Thielen’s lunchpail mentality to playing wide receiver would be well-received by Giants fans everywhere. It will be like getting Odell Beckham Jr. production without the ice-cream headaches.
Given that the Giants have cap space and are trending up as a franchise, this fit is not a bad one.
