3 teams that should scoop Adam Thielen up after Vikings release
By John Buhler
Atlanta Falcons with Thielen will slap harder than Adam’s Song’s intro guitar riff
I kind of low-key want this to happen. The Atlanta Falcons have more cap space than god, so you would think they’d spend it on veteran free agents who are ready to make a huge impact in the Dirty South. Jessie Bates of the Cincinnati Bengals is No. 1 for me, but I gotta say, getting Thielen to The ATL would be absolutely primo, Dawg. I think he is exactly what my Falcons are in need of.
Atlanta has two emerging stars in its receiving corps in Drake London and tight end Kyle Pitts. Tyler Allgeier could be special at running back, and maybe Desmond Ridder is a guy at quarterback, although my mom would beg to differ. Regardless, Thielen can be an effective No. 2 wide receiver to help support the growth and development of the emerging Atlanta offense that’s not so bad.
Furthermore, you have to remember that the Falcons are very much the Atlanta Bears. So many guys with Chicago Bears backgrounds are either on the team, coaching staff or front office. You think key people in the organization like Ryan Pace, Cordarrelle Patterson and Dave Ragone would want some of what made the Vikings so special for the better part of the last decade. Sign me up!
Atlanta needs to add a veteran receiver and strangely enough, the Thielen fit does make sense.
