36. . Defensive Tackle. Seattle Seahawks. Jalen Carter. 5. player

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine was supposed to be a joyous time for defensive tackle Jalen Carter, who went into Indianapolis considered a can’t-miss prospect. Instead, off-the-field news has threatened to derail his chance to go early in the 2023 NFL Draft, but he still lands in the top 5 of our latest mock draft.

By the time the draft rolls around, we will have a better idea of what the future holds in terms of the law for Carter, but for now, he remains a top player in this draft class. He is everything you look for in an absolute mauler on the interior of the defensive line, and Seattle certainly could use some help up front.

player. 50. . Cornerback. Detroit Lions. Christian Gonzalez. 6

The Detroit Lions finished the 2022 NFL regular season on a high note, proving to be one of the best teams in the NFC. However, they got out to too slow of a start to make it to the playoffs but heading into the 2023 NFL season, you have to think they are going to be a team to watch coming out of that conference.

Luckily for the Lions, they also hold some solid draft capital, as they continue to stack talent from the Matthew Stafford trade with the Los Angeles Rams a few years back. With the Rams’ No. 6 overall pick, Detroit selects the best cornerback in this draft class in Christian Gonzalez, solidifying one of the weaker parts of their defense.
