NFL Rumors: Aaron Rodgers trade to Jets is getting more and more sour

It’s no wonder Mike White escaped New York to sign with the Miami Dolphins. He doesn’t want to be anywhere near the NY Jets‘ quarterback room when the figurative bomb goes off.

It’s been weeks and weeks and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers still hasn’t made up his mind. Which is fishy, to say the least.

For the past several days leading up to free agency, differing information about Rodgers’ tenuous situation has come to light.

Some reports say a trade framework is already in place, others say Rodgers liking a tweet by his Packers teammate suggests he’ll stay, and opinions about Rodgers’ future are basically all over the place.

What we know for certain is this: Rodgers is dragging this out.

Rodgers’ inability to commit to a team for the 2023 season is a bright red flag, and if the Jets had any better option, they would stop pursuing him. The longtime Packers quarterback has done this before — Rodgers was wishy-washy during the Packers’ 2022 preseason, opting out of team activities, and he ended up suffering a slow start to the season and failed to make the playoffs.

The same narrative could play out in New York if Rodgers continues to give this nonchalant attitude with no set deadline for him to make a decision. Two weeks ago, it made sense as to why Rodgers wanted to mull over his options. Now, Rodgers knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s dragging this saga out, putting the Jets in an even more vulnerable and desperate position with free agency underway, and the worst part is, he doesn’t even seem to care.

Whether you’re a rookie or a legend, that’s just no way to start your career on a new NFL team.
