2. Warren Moon

Warren Moon had a career that seemingly never ended. He was Tom Brady before Brady. Moon played until he couldn’t play anymore, and those last two years were played in Kansas City at the ripe old age of 44. Moon was behind Elvis Grbac for both seasons, but it’s still strange to see that one start when he didn’t even throw a touchdown pass in the game.

Moon was an 80s and 90s legend. He brought the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Oilers to relevancy. His mix of skills opened the door for the quarterbacks of today. Before Moon, there were few quarterbacks who played his style under center.

His ability and personality allowed him to stay in the NFL until he was 44 years old. It takes a special player to last that long. There isn’t a ton of tape of Moon with the Chiefs since he only appeared in three games, but he was always active.

Moon won’t go down as a legendary Chiefs quarterback, but he is a Hall of Famer, and his expertise is invaluable. He likely made a serious impact on Grbac. He was a locker-room presence after a legendary career with both the Houston Oilers and in the Canadian Football League. While it’s weird to see him in a Chiefs uniform back in the late 90s, the signing made sense.
