Potential Ezekiel Elliott landing spots for 2023

1. Denver Broncos

A year ago, the Denver Broncos boasted one of the best running games in the league. Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon III were the second duo in franchise history to rush for 900+ yards each in a single season. Williams looked to cement himself as a star heading into his second season, and Gordon was projected to be one of the better RB2’s in the NFL.

A year later, things look much different. Williams is recovering from a season-ending ACL injury, and Gordon was waived after fumbling five times in 10 games. The Broncos signed Samaje Perine to a two-year deal, but that does not exclude them from signing another running back. Coming off a major injury, Williams may not be able to take on a large workload early in the season.

The Broncos are perfectly positioned for Elliott to succeed. They were fourth in the NFL in run block win rate (74%) last season, and they signed offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey and guard Ben Powers in free agency. In addition, he should have a clear path to touches, playing in their run-heavy offense.

Signing a one-year contract with the Broncos could allow Elliott to rebuild his value for next offseason.
