March Madness 2023: Reranking the remaining teams 1-32 after First Round

March Madness: Reranking the remaining teams 16-9
16. Kansas State (No. 3 – East): There was nothing awe-inspiring about the Wildcats victory over Montana State on Friday. KSU shot almost 60 percent from the field and forced 15 turnovers. In his first year at the helm, Jerome Tang has his team on the cusp of the Regional Semifinal.
15. Miami (No. 5 – Midwest): The Hurricanes had a bit of a nail-biter in Round 1, and things won’t get any easier in Round 2. After knocking off the No. 12 seed Drake Bulldogs, the Indiana Hoosiers are next up for Jim Larrañaga’s bunch.
14. Penn State (No. 10 – Midwest): As much as I want to rank Penn State even higher, this feels about right. The Nittany Lions are playing great basketball at the moment, and after ousting Texas A&M, the Longhorns are on deck.
13. Indiana (No. 4 Midwest): The Hoosiers looked good in their win on Friday night against Kent State. Head coach Mike Woodson had to be pleased with the play of his star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis who dropped 24 points on the Golden Flashes.
12. Arkansas (No. 8 – West): This may seem quite high for the Razorbacks, but don’t sleep on Eric Musselman’s team in the tournament. Arkansas has enough talent to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, but they’ll tangle with No. 1 seed Kansas on Saturday.
11. Missouri (No. 7 – South): Another SEC team that was very impressive in their Round 1 win was Mizzou. The Tigers shot over 50 percent from the field and knocked down 40 percent from deep. With Arizona now sitting at home, Missouri has a much easier path to the Sweet 16.
10. Gonzaga (No. 3 West): Mark Few had his team prepared for Grand Canyon University. The Bulldogs won in every facet of the game and looked every bit the part of a team that could make a Final Four run.
9. Baylor (No. 3 South): The Gauchos were a trending pick to upend Scott Drew’s Baylor Bears in the first round. That did not happen, and in fact, Baylor handled UCSB with ease. That version of the Bears could make a deep run in the tournament.
