NFL rumors: Aaron Rodgers trade deadline revealed

As much as it feels like the Aaron Rodgers drama is going to continue on forever, there is a deadline in place for the former Green Bay Packers star quarterback to be traded to his preferred team in the New York Jets: Day 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft. The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said it as such while appearing on no other progrum than The Pat McAfee Show on Monday afternoon.

This has everything to do with the potential compensation that would be going the Packers’ way in a blockbuster deal. New York would obviously be getting an aging franchise quarterback, while Green Bay would receive plenty of draft capital to build the best team around an unproven fourth-year pro Jordan Love as humanly possible. Once again, deadlines make deals and we do have one.

Even as we enter the back-end of March, this Rodgers to the Jets trade is far from over. It is up to Brian Gutekunst and Joe Douglas to work out a deal that both satisfies Rodgers’ wishes, while not leaving Green Bay completely behind in the dust. Now that he has at least publicly expressed where he wants to go, it is up to the two team’s general managers to dot the T’s and cross the I’s.

As it turns out, the Rodgers to the Jets deadline was right there right in front of us the entire time.
