March Madness – The SEC Pride Final Four: Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas

This is slightly cheating since Texas isn’t the SEC just yet but the Longhorns are set to join the conference in 2024. Having them in Houston does complete an interesting collection of SEC schools since Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee could each win their regions.

The SEC wasn’t given its due as an elite basketball conference this season but it has delivered three Sweet 16 teams, tied with the Big East for the most of any conference. Alabama is a legitimate national title contender and has never reached the Final Four, which should make this an exciting event for them.

Getting to the Final Four would earn them a rematch with Tennessee here, which beat the Crimson Tide in their lone regular season meeting. The Volunteers are a phenomenal defensive team that would be an interesting contrast to Alabama’s explosive offense.

The other side of the bracket would see Eric Musselman’s talented Razorbacks facing off with the Longhorns, who would get a home state bump from having the Final Four in Houston. The SEC wins in pretty much any scenario here so this would be a fascinating quartet to watch.
