Trea Turner is officially an American hero up there with George Washington and Abraham Lincoln after another World Baseball Classic home run.

You can kick whoever you want to off of Mount Rushmore, just give room for Trea Turner’s bust in the Black Hills after his Team USA heroics in the World Baseball Classic.

Turner, of course, blasted the go-ahead grand slam against Venezuela with the American team down 7-5 prior to that swing that kept Team USA alive in the WBC. He then followed that up against Cuba with two more home runs.

So when the WBC Final came around on Tuesday night, Turner got bumped up in the order from his No. 9 spot to the 6-hole. It doesn’t matter where you hit him in the lineup, though — Trea Turner bleeds red, white and blue and cranked a second-inning home run to left field to give America an early 1-0 lead.

American hero Trea Turner crushed another WBC home run against Japan and USA fans went crazy

Needless to say, Turner hitting another clutch home run — his fifth dinger of the tournament — sent Team USA fans on Twitter into an absolute frenzy.

Turner’s five home runs in the tournament tie the record for most by a single player in a career, which is truly incredible.

Unfortunately for Team USA, they were unable to put more runs on the board after Turner’s long ball. Even more unfortunate, the Americans quickly gave up a solo home run to Japan off the bat of Munetaka Murakami.

The good news is that Trea Turner will come around in the lineup soon and, if what we’ve seen in the knockout rounds is any indication, the fans in left field of loanDepot Park will be getting a souvenir, courtesy of the new Captain America.
