For NJ/NY Gotham FC: Can they move from last in the standings to top of the table?

It’s no secret to anyone who watched Gotham last year that their season was rough. They only managed to win 18 percent of their games, losing a shocking 17 games over the course of the season. There were brighter moments, including their final game in which they tied the Portland Thorns 3-3 and prevented them from securing the shield. (I really hope someone at the Reign sent them flowers).

Gotham has had one of the strongest offseasons this year, acquiring players from all over the map, tried and true champions. Plus, they hired head coach Juan Carlos Amorós, who led the Houston Dash to their first playoff game last season. Gotham put in the work this offseason, and only time will tell if that pays off for them in this year’s climb to the top of the table.
