2023 NFL Draft: Full two-round mock after early free agency waves
One player who could certainly go in the first round is Calijah Kancey, who dominated the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine. Kancey broke fellow Pitt alum Aaron Donald’s 40-yard dash time for a defensive tackle and has the skill set to be a menacing presence at the next level for the Cardinals.
After adding Will Anderson Jr. with the No. 4 overall pick, the Cardinals will bolster their defense in a big way with both Kancey and Anderson. That should help defensive-minded head coach Jonathan Gannon, who rode a strong Eagles defensive line to a Super Bowl appearance last year.
Thanks to the trade they made with the Indianapolis Colts in the first round, the Arizona Cardinals will hold back-to-back picks on Day 2 in our latest mock draft. On Day 1, and with the pick before this selection, they were able to bolster the defensive line, so here, we turn our focus to the offense.
Arizona is likely losing DeAndre Hopkins to a trade this offseason, so they are going to have to bring in some talent at wide receiver. With pick No. 35, they get a first-round talent in Jalin Hyatt from Tennessee, someone who could stretch the defense in a big way for Kyler Murray and this offense.
