3 Braves Opening Day starters who won’t be on the roster next season

Braves who won’t be on the roster next season: Max Fried
This one might be tougher to swallow for Braves fans.
Fried is a homegrown ace who finally wants his payday. Anthopoulos has been reluctant to give him his money, which could lead to Fried being the next star to depart the Braves.
For that to happen, however, the Braves would have to trade Fried. It’s a bit of a leap, but Anthopoulos tends to trade players when their value is highest. With a year left until his free agency, don’t be surprised if Fried is shopped next offseason.
Anthopoulos would never deal Fried during the season, especially if the Braves are in contention for a playoff spot. The fanbase would riot. Yet, if contract talks stall again next offseason, trading him with a year left on his deal would be wise, as Atlanta needs to restock its farm system somehow.
Fried will be expensive when he hits the open market, that much is obvious. A contract over $30 million per season should be expected, especially if the price point for start pitchers continues to increase.
Spencer Strider could replace Fried at the head of the table in Atlanta’s rotation. It’s not ideal, but a reality fans should brace for.
