3 biggest NFL Draft busts in Chicago Bears history
By Ryan Heckman
2. Kevin White, WR
Part of me sheds a tear while having to write this, but the fact of the matter is, Kevin White was one of the biggest draft busts in Bears’ history.
First of all, let’s make it very clear that this isn’t his fault. It was no fault of his own that White suffered injury after injury, from the get-go, nonetheless. He came out of that draft class as arguably the top receiver amongst his peers, maybe just under Amari Cooper, who went a tad earlier to the Raiders.
White was supposed to be the Bears’ answer to prayer. He was an electric, outside receiver who could do it all. He had the athleticism. He had the vertical. He had the body control and the hands. He had everything.
But, after being selected no. 7 overall back in the 2016 NFL Draft, White went on to catch just 25 passes in a Bears uniform, over three seasons. Following his stint with the Bears, White would catch just three more NFL passes, all with the New Orleans Saints over a two-season span.
