2. T Billy Milner

When you have a talent such as future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino, protecting him is a priority. His amazingly quick release made it difficult for him to be sacked and it was aided by some quality blockers up front.

In 1990, the Miami Dolphins used a first-round pick on tackle Richmond Webb and a second-round selection on guard Keith Sims as the team continued to protect their talented investment. That season, the club finished 12-4

However, the team also swung and missed a few times in trying to keep that offensive front formidable. Such was the case in 1995 with the first-round selection of former University of Houston tackle Billy Milner. He never really panned out despite playing in all 16 games and making nine starts as a rookie. He also started the club’s playoff meeting with the Bills at Orchard Park which proved to be the final game for Shula.

A year later, Milner was not a starter. He played in the club’s first four games but was then dealt to the Rams. He wound up appearing in 10 games for St. Louis but never made a start. Unfortunately, a neck injury in 1996 ended his career.
