The NBA MVP race has been up in the air, bouncing between multiple candidates throughout the season. The question is: when will we know who wins?

Nikola Jokic has won back-to-back MVP awards over the past two seasons. However, there is no doubt there are at least two, if not more, players with a chance to win the award.

Jokic is averaging 24.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 9.9 assists per game on the team with the best record in the NBA. Simply put, he is the best player on the best team in the league.

Joel Embiid is leading the league in points per game, averaging 33.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, carrying the 76ers to one of the best records in the league, and a real threat to win the title.

Other players, such as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum, are sitting behind the top two at the moment, but are still very much in the conversation.

When is the 2022-23 NBA MVP Announced?

The NBA Awards, as a whole, are typically handed out incrementally throughout the NBA Playoffs. Last year, the NBA MVP was handed out on May 9. However, there is no set date for the MVP, or any award, to be handed out.

It has become common practice to have the awards announced within a few days of each other. Whenever the first award is announced, expect the rest to be coming soon.
