Players the Chiefs could cut after the 2023 NFL Draft: Prince Tega Wanogho

The Chiefs have a few young offensive linemen on their current roster, including Tega Wanogho (25 years old). But, there are a couple of them that are even younger than he is, who have been invested in more recently as well.

Darian Kinnard, 23, was drafted in the fifth round last year. Lucas Niang, 24, was drafted in the third round back in 2020. It’s tough to imagine the Chiefs moving on from both Kinnard and Niang, especially considering Niang is the current starter based on the depth chart, right now.

But, Tega Wanogho has played a total of 66 offensive snaps with the Chiefs in the last two seasons. It’s not difficult to see him being cut based on where he’s at on the unofficial depth chart if Kansas City ultimately drafts another tackle in a few weeks (which they will).

Thankfully for Kansas City, they replaced Orlando Brown Jr. with Jawaan Taylor on the left side. Now, it’s up to Brett Veach to find that key starter on the right side. Both Kinanrd and Niang would be better suited as reserves, for now, so you have to believe right tackle is on the forefront of the mind of the Chiefs’ front office.

If they go offensive tackle within the first three rounds, you could see Tega Wanogho cut later in the offseason.
