MLB Rumors – Trade proposal: Adrian Houser to the Mets

H/T: FanSided.com

Robert Murray’s analysis: Entering the regular season, this trade made sense for both teams. The Mets needed rotation help with the unit battered by injuries. The Brewers, meanwhile, have plenty of rotation depth and had Houser start the season off in the bullpen.

But now, with the Brewers starting the season off 5-1, it’s unlikely they would consider subtracting from the major-league roster. Especially what happened last season after trading superstar closer Josh Hader in the middle of a pennant race.

The Mets seem primed to add to the rotation at some point, especially if Max Scherzer’s struggles continue. It would not be in Mets owner Steve Cohen’s DNA to sit still with a clear deficiency on his team, let alone after investing hundreds of millions into his roster this winter.

But Houser seems unlikely — for now. Perhaps that could change if the Brewers come back down to earth after a strong start.

Odds: 5/10
