St. Louis Cardinals rookie outfielder Jordan Walker, who made the Opening Day roster, was mic’d up ahead of his first MLB game.

The St. Louis Cardinals, like the other 29 teams in the league, had to construct their Opening Day roster.

Manager Oli Marmol and the Cardinals organization made the decision to call up top prospect and outfielder Jordan Walker for their very first game of the 2023 season. It was a decision that was praised by those in the fanbase and in the league. After all, Walker was the second-overall prospect in all of baseball.

On Opening Day, the Cardinals decided to mic up Walker ahead of the team’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The team posted a video of Walker’s during the pre-game festivities, which included hilarious conversations with Alec Burleson, and talking with a variety of Cardinals legends.

The only longer streaks were Eddie Murphy in 1912 (12 games), and Tedd Williams in 1939 (nine games).

Through seven games, Walker has gone 9-for-28 at the plate, recording one home run, one run scored and five RBI. Walker also posted a .358 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage.
