Jets rumors: 3 moves to make for Aaron Rodgers after losing Odell Beckham Jr., No. 2: Prioritize offensive line help with first-round pick

If there is one thing the Jets can do to get in Rodgers’ good graces, it’s to give him some offensive line help.

New York’s offensive line was battered due to injuries last year. Mekhi Becton missed the entirety of the season due to a fractured right knee cap. Alijah Vera-Tucker, their star offensive guard, suffered a torn triceps in Week 7. Duane Brown missed the first five games of the campaign due to a knee injury. All in all, while the quarterback play wasn’t great, the offensive line was hammered by injuries.

The Jets seem unwilling to give up the 13th overall pick to the Packers for Rodgers, and it would likely just take a couple of second-rounders, as discussed earlier. When they are officially on the clock, the Jets are in position to draft one of the top offensive tackles in the draft. Ohio State’s Paris Johnson Jr. Tennessee’s Darnell Wright, and Georgia’s Broderick Jones could all be available. If the Jets want to ensure that Rodgers doesn’t pick up any injuries during the season, giving him a good offensive tackle with upside will help with that.
