No Odell Beckham Jr, no problem: Chiefs should add Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins

Seriously, what are the Chiefs waiting for? After OBJ, Arizona Cardinals wideout DeAndre Hopkins ranks as the most talented wideout still available. While he’s *technically* not a free agent, the Cards have named a ridiculously cheap asking price for Hopkins: a mere second-rounder, plus something of value.

Hopkins’ contract is likely what’s holding back interested teams, and at this point, it appears Arizona just wants to offload Hopkins through whatever means possible.

The 30-year-old’s injury history waves a bright red flag, and with players like Kadarius Toney in the Chiefs’ wideout unit, Kansas City definitely doesn’t need more high-risk liabilities in 2023.

All that said, Hopkins’ talent supersedes that of any free agent wide receiver, and it’s not difficult to see him thriving under Mahomes’ arm, even if it’s just for half a season (we’re predicting he gets injured again).

We know we said the Chiefs don’t need a deep threat like Hill, but….they can still want one. Hopkins showcased his explosive speed, contested catch skills, and big-play ability in just nine games for Arizona last year and has a few Pro Bowl seasons left in him.

Don’t let the chance of signing Hopkins pass by like it did with OBJ. Everyone knows the Chiefs have a scary good offense, and a player like Hopkins would make them ten times scarier.
