Strangest Buffalo Bills players: 2. Reggie Bush

Reggie Bush was as close to a lock as there was for a superstar player. He came into the NFL Draft as a clear number one. Only, he didn’t go number one. Mario Williams did. Ironically, the Bills signed Bush right after Williams left the team for Miami.

Bush never really hit that superstar level. He was on a Super Bowl winner in New Orleans, the team that drafted him, and that was his peak. Bush was good, adding a dual-threat ability at a well-above-average rate. He was able to keep his career going until 2016. He signed with the Bills in August, joining a backfield that already had McCoy.

Bush was very bad in Buffalo. He had -3 yards on the season. That’s not a typo. Bush rushed 13 times, and the end result is he fell behind the line of scrimmage more times than not. He at least added 90 receiving yards, but his legacy with the Bills is being the first player in NFL history to rush for negative yards on 10 or more carries.

This was a sad time for a once decent career. Bush never played for another franchise and eventually retired to move into a media career.
