The transfer portal is opening back up which means college football rumors will swirl around these five quarterbacks competing for starting jobs.

The college football transfer portal window reopens on Saturday, April 15, giving players 15 days to decide if they want to seek a transfer.

The conclusion of spring practice tends to bring about a fresh wave of transfers as position battles and pecking orders get clarity. The pressure is even higher for quarterbacks who are transferring in search of starting jobs in larger numbers than ever.

So which quarterbacks could we see look for new homes when spring camps around the country end over the next few weeks?

5. Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina

Grayson McCall put his name in the transfer portal after the 2022 season before withdrawing his name at the start of 2023. The call of the portal could always renew, especially with NIL opportunities looming.

The Coastal Carolina star has gone 29-4 in three seasons as a starter, throwing 24 touchdowns with just two interceptions as a senior last year. However, playing and dominating in the Sun Belt has put a low ceiling on McCall and the perception of his ability.

If he wanted to maximise his chances in the NFL Draft or with NIL, he’d have to branch out. That’s why he was in the transfer portal in the first place and why he’ll continue to be one to watch on that front.
