Free agents the Philadelphia Eagles can replace in NFL Draft: Miles Sanders

Miles Sanders left Philadelphia to sign with the Carolina Panthers, to give that roster a hope at replacing the recently-traded Christian McCaffrey. Obviously no one is going to be able to do that, but the Eagles have it easier when trying to replace Sanders.

Philly signed free agent Rashaad Penny, but health has always been a huge question mark with him. The team also has Kenneth Gainwell and Boston Scott, but neither one of them have that bell cow, first and second down type of profile to them.

Luckily, this draft has some solid running backs that can be found at a decent price. One of the most popular backs that will be coveted in the middle rounds is UAB’s DeWayne McBride, who ran for over 3,500 yards in three seasons. His only big issue is fumbling, but if he can find a way to shore that up, he’s going to be a fantastic back in the NFL, as he averaged 7.2 yards per carry in college.

A little later, Philadelphia could look at a couple of undersized backs, yet fully capable of being that every down guy, in Illinois’ Chase Brown or Syracuse’s Sean Tucker. Both stand 5-foot-9 but run hard and are used to heavy volume.
