NFL Rumors: Steelers miss out on Bud Dupree
A Pittsburgh reunion is not in store for Bud Dupree. After cashing in on the end of a successful career as a Steeler, Dupree is no longer a member of the Tennessee Titans.
Dupree ended last season on injured reserve, so the Steelers rightly brought him in for a visit and physical to test that injury prior to making him an offer. That visit ended with optimism, but no contract offer just yet.
Per reports, the Steelers made Dupree a two-year offer at some point in this process. Dupree declined the chance to re-sign in Pittsburgh to instead take a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Steelers were heavily in the mix on a Bud Dupree deal but Dupree preferred a one-year deal. Steelers prefer two-year deals on contracts of substance. So, Dupree is off to Atlanta, as @ZachKleinWSB said.

Pittsburgh cut linebacker Jamir Jones, leading some within the fanbase to assume a move for Dupree was on the horizon. Instead, the Steelers are left with a hole at linebacker. The NFL Draft is at the end of the month, and Pittsburgh fans should prepare themselves for an early-round draft selection as the answer, unless the Steelers have another trick up their sleeves.
