NFL Rumors: Jalen Hurts contract details with Eagles

Howie Roseman left the Philadelphia Eagles some wiggle room despite signing Jalen Hurts to a $255 million extension.

Philly left plenty of roster holes in hopes of extending Hurts, and now that they have, they can begin to build around their superstar quarterback once again. The NFL Draft is right around the corner, and the Eagles select tenth. They should have a plethora of options, including potentially Jalen Carter, or they could trade back and add to Roseman’s war chest of draft picks.

There are also several capable veterans remaining on the free-agent market, including Leonard Floyd, who would fill a linebacker need for the Eagles. Budda Baker, the All-Pro cornerback who demanded a trade from the Arizona Cardinals, has flirted with a move to Philly and complimented Hurts on his contract extension just yesterday.

Hurts’ number against the salary cap is only egregious in 2026, but the next three years he’s actually fairly affordable. This means the Eagles can continue to add to the roster.

Roseman gave Hurts a lofty signing bonus up front, meaning he won’t be paid all that much annually. It’s a great decision from two parties who just want to win.
