7. Angel City FC

Strength: Breakthrough moments

The Los Angeles powerhouse is here to compete, with number one draft pick Alyssa Thompson securing her spot in history with her exceptional on-the-field performance. Angel City has had its fair share of amazing moments this season, with the excellence of their players not going unnoticed. These breakthrough moments give them bursts of energy that they often turn into chances, weaving their way through defenders accordingly. They’re fun to watch and even more fun to cheer for, as proven by their electric home fan base.

Weakness: Consistent energy

Angel City is a side that tends to ebb and flow at random. They have exceptional moments, see Alyssa Thompson and Savannah McCaskill, but these moments kind of feel unplanned and unpredictable. There’s a midfield problem for sure, likely something that will improve given the recently announced signing of Julie Ertz. If LA can get consistent with their big energy moments, they’ll feel much more secure in the rest of the season.
