Tyler Herro left Game 1 against the Milwaukee Bucks with an injury to his hand. Will he be available for the Miami Heat in Game 2?

The Miami Heat pulled off an unlikely upset in Game 1, knocking off the No. 1-seeded Milwaukee Bucks. But they also lost point guard Tyler Herro to an injury.

Herro injured his hand diving for a loose ball just before the end of the first half. He left the game at that point and did not return, finishing with 12 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in just under 20 minutes of action. In his absence, Gabe Vincent stepped up big and the Heat got huge contributions from Caleb Martin and Kevin Love off the bench. That trio combined for 48 points and hit 10-of-15 from beyond the arc.

Will Tyler Herro be available for Game 2 against the Bucks?

According to the official NBA injury report, Herro is out for Game 2 with a fractured right hand and the Heat has basically ruled him out for the rest of the postseason. There is a slim possibility he could return if the Heat make it all the way to the NBA Finals but that will be a tough challenge without him.

Kyle Lowry could replace Herro in the starting lineup, or Victor Oladipo could step in after not playing at all in Game 1. His absence will put a lot more pressure for offensive creation on Jimmy Butler, Lowry and Gabe Vincent.

The Heat were able to steal that 13-point win in Game 1 both because of their incredible 3-point shooting and because Giannis only played 10 minutes after injuring his back. Giannis is likely to be available for a lot more minutes and it may be tough for the Heat to replicate a 15-of-25 performance from beyond the arc. The Heat can still win Game 2, but they’ll have to find a different formula.
