The Cardinals could promote Connor Thomas

Connor Thomas could be promoted to St. Louis to fill a need for extended relief. While the team seems to depend on Chris Stratton and Drew VerHagen in this role, Thomas could be promoted to provide the club with another option.

Andre Pallante had been filling this role but was demoted to Memphis this week to work on things after a rocky start to his season. Palllante could also be stretched out to be another option for the starting rotation.

This would allow the perfect opportunity for Thomas to prove he can be an option for the Cardinals. At Memphis, he is 2-1 in four games started for the Redbirds. He has a 5.91 ERA in 21.1 innings of work. He has thrown 16 strikeouts.
