2023 NFL Draft: Full two-round mock after early free agency waves
Originally, the No. 21 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft was going to belong to the Miami Dolphins, but after violating policies that deal with the integrity of the game, they will not be picking until Day 2 of the draft.
Miami not only lost the No. 21 overall pick, but they were also fined $1.5 million, and will not pick until the 51st overall selection in the second round. The Dolphins are a team that many predict will battle for the AFC East crown this season, but losing important draft capital will prove huge for the franchise moving forward.
The Los Angeles Chargers struck gold when they selected Justin Herbert in the first round a few years back, and he has rounded into one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. With talent up and down the roster, the Chargers should be winning much more than they do, but Herbert has yet to lead them to a playoff win so far.
That could change this season, as the Chargers brought back some of their veteran talent this offseason, and hold the No. 21 overall pick on Day 1. With the pick, the Chargers add the best tight end in the draft class in Michael Mayer, who could be the best Chargers tight end since Antonio Gates when all is said and done.
