Vikings Draft Picks 2023: Full list of selections

  • Round 1, Pick 23: Jordan Addison, WR, USC
  • Round 3, Pick 102: Mekhi Blackmon, CB, USC
  • Round 4, Pick 134: Jay Ward, DB, LSU
  • Round 5, Pick 141: Jaquelin Roy, DL, LSU
  • Round 5, Pick 164: Jaren Hall, QB, BYU
  • Round 7, Pick 222: DeWayne McBride, RB, UAB

It’s a bit hilarious that, across seven selections in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Vikings only took players from four different schools as USC and LSU wholly comprised their first four picks in this draft. But on the whole, Minnesota identified the clear roster holes and made an impact on a number of them, even if every pick wasn’t necessarily a home run.

Vikings Draft Grades for Entire 2023 Class: B+

The only thing keeping the Vikings for getting an A in the 2023 NFL Draft was the Blackmon selection in the third round. With such limited draft capital on Day 2, Minnesota really couldn’t afford to miss with their pick in that spot and, frankly, they might’ve given the player they got and the value associated with him.

Having said that, every other pick in the 2023 draft class was graded by me as a B or higher. That’s strong drafting for a roster and organization that has made a habit out of retooling and reloading rather than every fully rebuilding. They have a nice core now to hopefully be a better team than last year, maybe not in terms of record after they had the fool’s gold 13-win campaign, but definitely in terms of quality.
