2024 NFL Draft: Way too early mock draft has Caleb Williams, Marvin Harrison Jr. teaming up, Bucs finding Brady’s successor
Early 2024 NFL Draft mock draft: Eagles settle for non-Georgia defender, Chiefs finish Round 1 with major need
How devastating for Howie Roseman that someone from the Georgia Bulldogs defense isn’t really in the right range at this point. I guess they’ll have to settle for another player who can replenish the deep defensive talent pool for the Eagles.
Bralen Trice feels perfect for this defense’s mentality. He was elite in his production in 2022 and you can see why with the power he shows in his rush, both with burst and in his hands. More importantly, the motor never stops running and he’ll be a key fit for the future without Brandon Graham in Philadelphia.
San Francisco had a more befuddling draft than imaginable, despite not picking until the third round. But the most perplexing part was not taking a right tackle replacement for Mike McGlinchey after letting him walk in free agency.
They start to fix that by taking Miami standout Zion Nelson. Nelson has improved every year with the Hurricanes as he’s gotten bigger but not sacrificed his athletic gifts fully either. He still shows some rawness in his technique but he has all the traits to be a real force as a bookend at the NFL level.
The Bengals have consistently been retooling the offensive line, so much that the Orlando Brown Jr. signing now has Jonah Williams begging to get out. They can replace Williams, who is likely to slot inside at guard in 2023, with Cooper Beebe.
A former tackle who pushed inside in the 2022 season, Beebe hasn’t allowed a sack since 2021 at Kansas State. He’s a butt-kicker who somehow got even better at guard and should be a plug-and-play high-end starter at the next level.
Though the Chiefs draft didn’t have a ton of people over the moon in 2023 but it was a solid group of additions to the Super Bowl champs. But now they need to get down to brass tacks, which in this case means finding a replacement for Juan Thornhill.
I love Miami safety Kamren Kitchens to do just that. Much like Thornhill did for Kansas City, Kitchens plays everywhere with snaps in the slot, in the box and dropping back into a deep role. He can be a real asset that would slot seamlessly into this defense.
