Chicago Bears 53-Man Roster Prediction

Quarterback (2): Justin Fields, PJ Walker

Unless something changes drastically and the need for a third-stringer on the 53-man roster is apparent, it is fair to assume Chicago goes into the year with two quarterbacks. The backup role is filled by PJ Walker, who did some nice things with the Carolina Panthers, helping them pave the way to land Bryce Young as their franchise quarterback.

Meanwhile, the leader for Chicago is Justin Fields. Despite Mike Tannenbaum’s best efforts to convince Chicago to move on from the former first rounder, the former general manager was reminded why he is in that role. If Fields shows any improvement from last season, he will continue to be the starter and the franchise quarterback. If no improvement is shown, Chicago has two first-rounders next season to help them jump up the board if necessary.

For now, No. 1 is #1 on the depth chart, and with several new faces on the offensive side of the ball, expect him to take a big step in 2023.
