. Guard. Toronto Raptors. Scoot Henderson. 2. player. 81

The Raptors are likely to have some serious roster changes this summer but it’s not clear exactly who will be in or out. Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr. both have player options and could opt out or opt-in and make clear they aren’t interested in an extension, essentially forcing a trade. OG Anunoby was also featured heavily in trade rumors and the Raptors may again explore what they can get from him on the offseason trade market.

It seems likely that both Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam will be back and landing an elite backcourt creator who could level up their halfcourt offense is too good to pass up. Henderson isn’t necessarily a reliable shooter at this point but his penetration will get them another reliable weapon and pairing him with Barnes and Siakam will give the Raptors a flexible and versatile offensive foundation to build around.

As much as anything though, the Raptors need this pick to work if they jump to No. 2. Miller is too redundant with Siakam and Barnes and Henderson feels like more of a sure thing and a more immediate pay-off than Thompson.
