2. player. 69. . Guard. New Orleans Pelicans. Scoot Henderson

The Pelicans didn’t take the leap as much as expected this year, in large part because Zion Williamson appeared in just 29 games. They still have a talented core in place with Brandon Ingram, Trey Murphy, CJ McCollum and Dyson Daniels and there’s every reason to think they can continue to improve next season, even if Williamson is in and out of the lineup.

Point guard is the most obvious hole in the Pelicans rotation and if McCollum continues starting with Ingram and Williamson working as secondary creators, putting another offensive playmaker on the bench would be a big deal for New Orleans.

With an eye toward a point guard, the Pelicans would likely be choosing between Henderson and Thompson. Henderson probably has a higher floor, with a more reliably useful range of outcomes. He’s also likely to be much more useful next season and the Pelicans need someone who can both help right away and give them upside for the future.
