Georgia football: No White House visit for the Bulldogs

The Georgia Bulldogs are not going to visit the White House and president Joe Biden, despite an invite extended by his staff. Per the program, there was a scheduling conflict. They released a statement confirming no ill will towards the current president:

"“The University of Georgia first received on May 3 an invitation for the Bulldog football team to visit the White House on June 12. Unfortunately, the date suggested is not feasible given the student-athlete calendar and time of year,” the Georgia athletics department said in a statement to the Athens Banner-Herald, part of the USA TODAY Network. “However, we are appreciative of the invitation and look forward to other opportunities for Georgia teams moving forward.”"

It’s an odd series of events for the Bulldogs, as they didn’t visit the White House after their 2022 College Football Playoff run, either, due to COVID-19 restrictions.

It’s a tradition for champions across all major sports to visit the White House, but UGA has missed its opportunity for two straight years.
