Atlanta Braves Rumors: What happened to Raisel Iglesias?

Raisel Iglesias hadn’t given up a home run in over 42 innings pitched until Wednesday night against the Boston Red Sox. In a back-and-forth affair which resulted in a series split between the two contenders, Boston came away with the victory thanks to ninth-inning bomb from first base prospect Triston Casas.

Casas, who has received the ire from Sox fans of late for his slow start to the season, received a pitch right in his wheelhouse and took care of the rest.

That home run gave Kenley Jansen a chance at his 400th save, which he notched relatively easily. While Jansen left the Braves in the offseason, there’s something beautiful about him hitting such a milestone against a former team.

“My body is shaking right now, it’s crazy. I never thought I could do this,” Jansen said after the game.

As for Iglesias, Atlanta baseball fans shouldn’t freak out. He was activated off the injured list just under a week ago, and is one of the best closers in baseball when he’s hot. And when he’s not, the Braves have other capable pitchers who can fill that role, including Joe Jimenez and more.
