Steelers schedule 2023: Game-by-game predictions, Weeks 14-18

Dec. 7 (TNF). 55. 8:20 PM ET. 13. 47. Amazon Prime. 16. Week 14

A short week for a Patriots at Steelers matchup? You just know that this one is going to be an ugly slugfest.

I’m still not high on New England, mostly because I remain unconvinced that Mac Jones is the guy. While the defense is always going to be solid, it won’t be able to hold the Pickett and Najee Harris down enough for the Pats to steal a road victory.

TBD. 55. TBD. Dec. 17. 14. 46. Week 15. 23

Anthony Richardson and the Colts are going to present some problems for a lot of teams. Pittsburgh, however, probably isn’t one of them.

The thing about Richardson is that he’s still just incredible raw as a quarterback, particularly from the processing and decision-making aspects of the position. That will be put to the test against this Steelers defensive front and will ultimately be the deciding factor in a road win for Pittsburgh.

TBD. Dec. 24. 17. 55. TBD. 30. 56. Week 16

No Christmas gifts for Mike Tomlin’s team as they welcome the Bengals for the second matchup against the division rivals this year. These games are always heated but, once again, Cincinnati is just a noticeable touch above every other team in the AFC North this year. Moreover, the defense for the Bengals should be showing signs of improvement at this point, which will further limit what the Steelers can do.

55. TBD. 21. TBD. Dec. 31. 36. Week 17. 17

If you couldn’t tell, December is a tough one for Pittsburgh as they have a murderer’s row of opponents on the back end of the schedule. A trip to Seattle is a tough one, especially with the strides the Seahawks have made. The Seahawks defense could sneakily cause Kenny Pickett some issues moving the ball downfield and Geno Smith has enough weapons to find enough big plays to get the home win in front of a surely raucous crowd.

55. TBD. 26. 14. Jan. 7. 13. Week 18. TBD

Entering the final week of the season, the Steelers should be heavily in contention for a playoff spot and, if they haven’t already locked it up, will be battling for seeding as they visit the Ravens to end the year. After losing the first meeting, Pittsburgh will have a defensive gameplan all the way ready for the new-look Baltimore offense, creating an absolute heavyweight fight between these two rivals. For me, it ends up with a narrow advantage for the Steelers to finish the regular season with a win.
